Ida Hansson – Black belt!

| November 1, 2011 | 15 Comments

This Friday I was promoted to black belt after 6 years of training BJJ, absolutely amazing!!!
I can honestly say that this was one of the biggest moments of my BJJ-life.

Leo Vieira came to Arte Suave and promoted not only me, but also Shanti Abelha, my trainingpartner through many years, and Alexander Trans to black belt as well. So in just one day we went from being just one black belt to four, and correct me if I am wrong but I think that my academy is the only one that has just as many women as men wearing black.

On the day that I first stepped onto the mat, I never ever in my life imagined that I one day would be standing there with a black belt tied around my waist. But miracles do happen, and even a little girl from Sweden can fight her way through belts, competitions, sparring-sessions and come out a blackbelt girl on the other side.

This post is dedicated to all of my teachers that I have had through the years, who put up with all my questions, correcting me the same way for the 20th time in the same class, supporting me, believing in me even when I myself had my doubts, wiping my tears and sharing my laughter.
My sparringpartners who has always been there for me helping me pushing me to the limit and sometimes a little bit over, but never too far.  THANK YOU GUYS AND GIRLS!!!

There is a little video of the event here, and for those of you who might think different, I DO KNOW HOW TO TIE MY BELT!!! ;)
